Default Getting into the trunk with dead battery

well I guess the engineers in their infinite wisdom forgot about this one, but is there a way to get into the trunk if your battery goes completely dead? Would be nice if they left a key lock on the trunk!

Don't the back seats fold down? Not convenient but at least it will get you in there. It doesn't help if the seat back releases are in the trunk though. I'm not sure about your YF Sonata but on my NF the seat backs are released from inside the cabin. Of course it doesn't really matter in my case because I've still got a key lock in the trunk.

MY 2012 2.0 SE has a trunk keyhole. It is located on the horizonal surface where you lift the trunk lid. Open the trunk lid and look to the left of the push button area, there is the keyhole.

Ya, that's right. My Sonata has a key slot too. Left side of the license plate lights. You have to crouch down to see it.

As to the seat. They are released from inside the trunk so of no help. Why do they do that anyway??

I guess it's supposed to be more convenient. If you are loading something into the trunk and you need the extra space you are right there and can release the seat backs from the back.

It would be more convenient if they released from either side. Even releasing the seat from the trunk you practically have to climb in there to push the seat down.

That's a good point. If they don't fold down on their own they might as well have the release inside the cabin.

You could also use a jump box or cables if you can get under the hood.
