Default Engine Shut off while driving to home

Me and My wife almost had an accident on the road three days ago because the engine shut off while driving to home. This is not the first time to shut off the engine. It has been occurred 4 times already and reported the Hyundai road service center. Actually we went to Hyundai dealership today. However, the technicians could not verify the concern. I believe that the technicians performed all diagnostic procedures they could .

They said "if anything wrong, just come to the service center with car". In other words, they let our family put in the unsafe car until an accident is occurred. What do i have to do with this car? If my family or the other person get injured?

My family is really afraid and angry about this matter because this problem might be happened again on the highway. this car is 2011 Sonata with milieage of 6500.

When the car shuts down what happens? Lights on dash light up? Is your service engine light on? When it dies does it restart immediately?

every lights were on. the engine could restart about 30mins later. The problem is on and off so that it's very dangerous.

When the engine won't start does crank? No crank? Is this a push button start?

Unhappy engine shout off while driving

This happened to me yesterday and the flashers came on, the radio still playing it took my son and I to turn the wheel to get off the road. Once I put it in park it restarted. Prior to shutting down it had hesitation when I pressed the gas. Very scary.

Sometime last year when i got my car it did shut down while i was waiting for a traffic light to change. At first i panic but then i just put the car in Park and push the start button and it restarted.
Last week i was browsing thru the owners manual and to my surprise i saw some instructions of if the car shut off while it is still moving just push the button to restart it.

Wow, I wonder if that is because it is a Hybrid. Mine is not. The auxillary lights and stereo
remained on while the flashers stared and power steering was gone. The start button was red. Yikes!

Mine did this several times before I finally took it in. They did some sort of transmission switch replacement that they KNEW about and it hasn't done it since. When I researched it I found people mentioning that if you are driving and have your foot on the gas and accidentally tap the break you freak the system out and it shuts it down. I thought it was that since I have size 15 shoes, but then it happened when I KNOW I could not have hit the brake since I was actually on the inner state. Luckily traffic wasn't too bad and I could pull off the side of the road.
