Hello,
I am looking to tow my 01 accent with my 09 elantra touring (stickshift). It seems that only a class I receiver hitch is available for the touring. Uhaul says they require a class II for towing the accent (approx 2,300-lbs). Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thanks.

We just looked over the Owners manual, I think that might a bit much for that car to do. It say not to tow more than 1500lbs. You might do damage to the car doing this.

I have to agree with Admin1, your Elantra just isn't a large enough vehicle to tow your Accent. If you need to do a short, flat, back roads, tow back to the house. I'd say get a buddy and a tow strap, and have at it. Anything more than that will be really hard on the drive-train and breaking systems & if something breaks...you better hope the dealer can't figure out why.:noidea:
Cause they won't honor the warranty.
