Hello to everyone;
My questions to all of you are:
Do you use genuine hyundai parts for reg.maintenance?
If yes which one(s)?
Any other places for a good deal on these parts besides dealers?

As far as parts some things you be ok with using aftermarket, But one thing I would use factory is the transmission fluid! SPIII.

Hello back at ya.:wave:
Personally, I don't generally use factory parts for routine maintenance because auto manufacturers usually don't make those parts. I'm not saying any old part will do, but some aftermarket is as good or better than factory.

If a part I need is available from a reputable aftermarket company I will usually go with it since the price is usually better. I have found Wix filters to be good and have never had any issues with fitment or quality. A Wix cabin air filter is about one third the price of what my local dealer wants for the OEM part so for me that is a no brainer.
There are several companies that sell OEM parts online that offer discount prices. An internet search should turn up a number of possibilities.

Aftermarket oil and filters are fine. I concur about the Wix oil filters. The rest I would use OEM parts. I'd let the dealer do the transmission work. You have to dispose of the old fluid anyway.

I just replaced my 2009 Sonata ac condenser with a Aftermarket Spectra condenser from rockauto about $120 delivered. It had a very slow leak . Last year a stone put a hole in it. brought it to the dealer and was charged $850 to change it. The new Condenser from Hyundai lasted about 14 Months (only has a 12 month warranty) and developed small porous leaks, no rock damage. The aftermarket Condenser fits and works very well. I hope this one lasts longer than the OEM. So some aftermarket parts will do just fine.

I am curious. Did you replace the condenser yourself? As soon as an A/C system looses the refrigerant it needs to be dried and vacuum filled.

Yes, I replaced it myself. and it was very easy.....You need Pag 46 refrigerant oil about 2.2oz and 20oz. (2cans) of R134 refrigerant. Also 2 new o-rings.. I have a robin-air vacuum pump and gauges. The condenser has a built in receiver dryer.

OK. :thumbsup:
Robin-air makes great stuff. I was asking because other members may think it was a turn key replace. :noidea:
