:help: I have a 2002 Hyundai elantra and it had an intake leak it had a rough idle used carburetor cleaner and sprayed around the intake and on cylinder 3 it almost died so i changed the intake gasket and now it is revving up and down from 1500 to 3000 or 3500 rpms and keeps doing it and i disconnected the positive battery terminal for about 20 minutes but that did nothing

It would be best to start out by going over everything that was removed/disconnected or touched in the process of removing the intake manifold. Maybe something was not reconnected properly or at all.
Sometimes a surge like that could be due to a faulty TPS. Is the Check Engine Light on or was it before you disconnected the battery?

Yes that is it. They sometimes go bad.
It would have been a good idea to check the codes that were stored before pulling the battery cable. They would likely lead you to the problem you are having.

Have you double checked that you don't still have an intake leak? Maybe the gasket didn't seat correctly...or somewhere else?

Yes double check for a vacuum leak. Spray the intake with some brake clean while the car is running an see if that changes anything. Also if possible check codes. TPS issue on Hyundai's typically through a P0121 code. An yes it can car to rev too.
