 after my arbitration I was ruled "replacment" there was a milage/ use fee that ads up here in Missouri. I am getting hit with a 1500.00 bill for use on a car that had problems the entire time. Be aware of this. Now even though my ruling from the BBB has a 45 day limit for hyundai to replace my car.. apparantly this doesnt mean squat because my ruling was on the 13th of may.. never go with the bbb's acceptance of terms after the arbitration go stratight to a lawyer Hyundai has a crappy customer service after the sale yes they had me in a pearl white limited for a week or two but that was yanked and they told me that they were just going to build me a 2012 sonata se to match our old one. THis will take 6 weeks that would of put it at July 26-27 and no later august 1st. I have zero faith in this deadline being met either. apparantly the BBB is all about the business' not the cusumer. Face it were screwed from the get go.

Hopefully it'll all come out in the wash. I don't know how many miles you had, but it looks like you're going to snag a new 12 model and that's a plus. I'm at a loss on why it'll take six weeks as they're already being delivered to dealers.

we received it from the dealer at 540 miles.. the problem started imediately. for us to get to a dealership its 65 mile drive one way. After all the trips to the dealership, test drives and normal driving we racked up 4000 miles at the time of arbitration. After all we paid for the car. Agian the problem started immediately so WTF?
Sent another letter to hyundai today and hopefully have a response or an idea of what is going on... anyone know the changes on the 2012? wheels, interior ???
thanks

its ok... talked to a lawyer today just building a papertrail and making a case for breech of contract etc.... its a shame that first they denied the problem, ran us around trying to fix the problem with all our trips back and forth, told us that it was fixed when it wasnt - even after I take them for a ride showing otherwise as well as provide videos, then a hyundai rep said they will pay a months payment and never do it, this was for the 37 days it was in the shop out of 40. I am just loosing all hope in Hyundai TODAY. Not in their product but after the sale service. I understand there could always be a problem but lets get through this and do what is right and fair. We miss our 03 Sante Fe it was a tank we would love to have it back. Today were just driving the growling and left pulling Beautiful Pearl white Turbo SE and making our payments. The car would be a blast and a sure thing on the local dirt oval but not a class for the turbo car.. LOL

Cattlick,

A very sad but interesting saga. Thankfully my 2.0T limited doesn't have any pulling. (And I've tested it every time I get on the Freeway.)

I've read elsewhere that the Tires were the cause for some folks, then there is a Strut issue for others, and other still had a combination of the two. A lot of them never got 100% satisfaction, but some did. You are the only one I've found who's gone all 10 rounds and come out fighting.

I hope the 2012 solves your issue. My 2011 Sonata is a great ride IMHO.

This is still a big load of crap! Hyundai was allowed 45 days to produce me a vechicle. They took 73 days. Did it matter that this was a term in the arbitration, heck no. Apparantly laws dont apply to them. Then when I see it it has no spoiler and still not painted in various spots around the trunk lid and front air dam. Oh and there is more.. still a 1500.00 use fee I have to pay out even though the car did this from day one! and its going to be another 3-4 weeks until paperwork is done.. Im willing to bet its going to be another couple weeks until they add the spoiler and another couple until the windows are tinted... apparantly being a consumer doesnt amount to a pile of beans!

Sadly, you experience what I've complained about in talking w/customer service or any Hyundai employee that I've spoken to at length. Everyone except the owner is on the payroll. I dug in my pocket and paid for a new car. I shouldn't have to shoulder the burden of proof, work my schedule around theirs and continue to invest my time/money/resources in order for Hyundai to restore my car's steering to where it tracks true, similar to the 2010 Ford Focus SE w/EPS that I drove for a month. I claimed that roughly 1/10 of 1% (0.1) of all 2011 Sonata models sold in 2010 had the left pull. That comes to one in every thousand. Car & Driver's 2012 sales forecast lists Hyundai at 782,800 units representing 5.78% of the market share (not including Kia w/521,300 & 3.85%).

If you wish to announce yourself as having arrived as a major player then why aren't you tending to the needs of those cars that fell through the crack?

Regardless of how many commercials you air w/thick sliced baloney about listening to the consumer I'm not receiving any warm fuzzy feelings from the J.D. Powers & Associates customer satisfaction numbers. Which by the way if you add the 14 different ratings from J.D. Power Consumer Center Ratings and then divide by that same 14 you only come up w/3.75 and that's a tad shy of 4 out of 5.
