Looking for the exact location of the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Having the same speedo issues many are chatting about. speedo bouncing around at different speeds. works, doesn't work...

03 3.5 AWD 89K miles

- Tested and cleaned the output speed sensor on the top of the trans axle and got the square sign wave.
- Not the instrument panel
- No codes
- Not the speed sensors on each wheel, cleaned and tested.

I have the new little green plastic gear and the long sensor that goes into the transaxle. Just can't figure out where it is located so I can install the new one.

A photo or very descriptive text explanation woulld be helpful.

HMA Service site does not show the location of the Vehicle Speed Sensor & Gear.

Thanks,
BBjr

Appreciate the picture. That's the same one on Alldata. I sent them a message that the picture was wrong.

I could not get into the file/Manual sent to me. It was DVD 3 of 3 Electricle and would hang at "loaded" once you executed manuals.exe

I figured out where the stupid thing was located. Location is down below the throttle body air intake. It's not located under the air box like all the pictures show. They are all wrong that's the output speed sensor they keep showing. Not the Vehicle Speed Sensor aka (VSS)

Easy if you have small hands and arms. Not so it your a bigger guy.

Took me just over a 2 hrs. but the speedo now works!!
