Oil Change

I have receive a letter from the dealer regarding to bring the car for 12000km service this is what they are estimate we have on our car but we have almost 8000 km.Last time i went for oil change in October 2010 when we have 5000km.When is recommended to have the oil change if you do not have the km for this i know there is a amount of months which come first.Can you please advise.Many thanks for your help.

If you follow the severe schedule for your car then the oil changes are due every 6,000 km or 6 months. Those letters are automatically sent out based on typical driving amounts so I would disregard it and wait until the 12,000 km comes up or 6 months have passed from the last change.
